Thanksgiving a little late!

Just wanted to post a little on Thanksgiving.

It was a beautiful, sunny and very cold day. Lucas and I enjoyed hunting together, quad rides in the snow (I didn't get a picture of the tub being pull by the quad), grandparents and good food. We thank God for all these wonderful blessings.

String lash bruise from a bow to long for me. Oh well. A year ago I couldn't even draw it! So I'll take the lash. I had to hipper extend my arm on Lucas' pull in order to release it. If I draw the bow without the pull I do just fine. Chalk it up to experience and (maybe a bow that fits me!!!!).

We're Home Owners!

Yes, that's right Lucas and I just bought our first home in Moyie Springs, ID. We signed papers on Thursday and thus began a very long and busy weekend working on the house. Lucas starts the new position as the Bonners Ferry Conservation Office for IDFG (the same position He's had here in Powell)! So we have a long road to haul with fixing up the home, but we look forward to all the possibilities. So here's what we've done so far...

Removal by shove...inch by inch. It took us 4+ hours to remove it from two rooms.

After painting all day on Saturday a nice beer and a beautiful view from our backyard!

... so here's the after so far and so much more to come

(we haven't even started on the basement yet)!

Happy home owners! We're looking forward to all that God has in-store for us and how we can serve Him in this next chapter of our lives.

Easter

With moving in 7 weeks 90% of our home is packed up. So, no decorations this year and no pretty dishes, but I did bake some mini Easter egg nest cheesecakes, with elk steaks, broccoli and scalloped potatoes. It was a beautiful day celebrating our risen Savior.

We even had our egg hunt outside (just missing the rain/snow by 10 minutes). This is only the second hunt we've been able to do outside in Powell.

Erin had so much fun this year with the hunt. Last year she just didn't know what to do with herself.

Christmas, Finally

We had the blessing of spending Christmas in San Diego at Jess and Dan's home with my parents and Holly's family. It was a surprise for the girls. We drove through 6 states to get there!

Started in Idaho...

Then Montana...

and...

Finally California, but I didn't get a picture of the state sign!

This was the day after we arrived when Papa and Holly's family arrived!

What a great surprise for all the kids.

We enjoyed lots of sister time, family and cousin time, great food, wonderful drinks, playing outside in the sun 75 - 80 degrees (which this Idaho family roasted) and playing cards.
