Working Backwards to Catch Up

I've been so delinquent in posting and I'm going to try harder to keep people up to date on what's happening with us. Please be patient with me. So...
Lucas' father's day fishing trip with his girls to start things off before I fall to far behind.

I've been so blessed by God to have a wonderful father for my children. I love watching him as he teaches our girls to love Jesus, disciplines, wrestles, plays hide-&-seek, loves on them and just cozy up with them on the couch. I also love how it's so important to him to pass on his love and passion of the out doors, from fishing, to hunting, to trapping and everything in between. I thank God for Lucas and I look forward to see him as he raises our girls into women who love Jesus and enjoying all the blessing we have by God's wonderful grace.

You can't see me...
a young duckling trying to hide right where we were fishing.

The loves of my life!

What happens when you've been camping for a week
and then have a hard days fishing.

Highlights from the last two months

Baking Christmas cookies

Nothing warms you up like hot chocolate with marshmallows

A little home improvement during Christmas break. My dad and I cut out this pony wall to open up the stairway. It makes it so open and airy. I also got my dishwasher installed, which is wonderful.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We started back up with my families tradition of stringing popcorn and cranberries. The two older girls had so much fun helping and well, Erin had a lot of fun eating the popcorn!

Thanksgiving a little late!

Just wanted to post a little on Thanksgiving.
It was a beautiful, sunny and very cold day. Lucas and I enjoyed hunting together, quad rides in the snow (I didn't get a picture of the tub being pull by the quad), grandparents and good food. We thank God for all these wonderful blessings.

Time to cut our Christmas trees!

Before and After

Before eye surgery...

...after

We're praising God that the surgery went really well and her eyes are working together instead of apart! She was such a trooper and was such a light to all who were around from the surgery. The doctors and nurses all said they wished all their patients were like her. Thanking Jesus!

First Day of School!

Erin had to get in on the action!

Outdoor exercise with the Bow tonight!

Cora's thinking safety first with her bike helmet on!

String lash bruise from a bow to long for me. Oh well. A year ago I couldn't even draw it! So I'll take the lash. I had to hipper extend my arm on Lucas' pull in order to release it. If I draw the bow without the pull I do just fine. Chalk it up to experience and (maybe a bow that fits me!!!!).

More to follow of the last week of summer vacation from the Swanson 5!

The Swanson Summer Happenings and Renovation #2

The girls got to go to Vacation Bible School for the first time and absolutely loved it.

The way we beat the heat when it was 90 degrees inside the house. Though it was a little small for the whole fam, but we did it anyway.

Then came the upgrade.

4th of July smoked ribs from our neighbors welcoming us to the neighborhood. They were so delicious.

The way to cook in the summer
Elk shish kabobs

A first for me cooking fresh crab

I made crab cakes

A short visit from GG who gave the girls princess crowns.

How can I not take a picture of my little thug?!

Including her bull trout fish tattoo!

Our dinning room transformation
