Dahlias #2 & #3

The top one is #2 which is by far the best one this year. #3 had one side eaten by grasshoppers, but I'm still enjoying them and just happy that I got any! With all the rain we had this spring I really thought that they would rot in the ground.

I was so happy that caught this shot. Audrey is so anti-pictures right now (at least poised shots) , I wasn't sure I was going to be fast enough taking the picture. Though she did this one on her own. I didn't even ask her to do it. She loves to smell all the flowers in our yard.

Family Outing

Friday we went huckleberry picking as a family and it turned out to be such a glorious day! It had been so cloudy and cold and the sun finally broke through the clouds and made it so beautiful. It feels like autumn already up here! I'm looking forward to the fall. It's becoming one of my favorite seasons.
Audrey is such a daddy's little girl.

Cora was so tired by this time. She had already miss her morning nap and was quickly falling apart. After picking we went to Weir hot springs, twenty miles west of us.

Audrey wasn't to sure at first, but then she had a great time hanging on to daddy's hand and swimming around. Cora on the other hand is our water baby! She had so much fun splashing around and putting her face in the water trying to drink it (though I didn't let her), she didn't want to leave.

It was so relaxing, thought the hike in was a bit trying with the girls on our back and watching Bandit. It's not the easiest trail to hike. It's rather steep and rocky. We had the pool to ourselves and didn't have to worry about any nude people (which was so nice). It was such a great day as a family. We've been missing daddy a lot with him being gone and with the busy hunting season coming on us. In the next month or so we're not going to have very many times like this as a family, so we were thoroughly enjoying our time.

Froggy Princess

The other day when we were at Costco I found these adorable froggy pajamas for Cora and of-course I just had to get them. They fit Cora's personality to a tee. Audrey wanted sissy to dress-up with her so here is the end result. Our little froggy princess.

Flower SOS

This is my first Dahlia of the season. Up here in Powell we have such a short growing season that I get one flower and then we get a frost and I loose all the other buds. Also this year we've had an amazing amount of grasshoppers and they're eating all my buds as you can tell by this flower. Does anyone have any advise on how to deal with the grasshoppers and when it gets to cold? Yesterday morning it was 34 degrees! I need a lot of help.
I'm still happy I got this one flower. It encourages me to try again next year!

Dress Up Time

The other day my sister sent Audrey and Cora dress ups that were Lizzie's. So the girls had to play and don't they look wonderful. They have had so much fun dressing up. Audrey had worn them everyday since she got them! I'm so glad that my girls are enjoying them. My sisters and I use to have so much fun dressing up and playing make believe, that I want my girls to have the same experience.

I love this picture of Audrey!

I love the expression on Cora's face.

Swanson Cookout

Last Saturday we invited our whole church up to our home for a moose burger cookout. What a fantastic day we had. It had been raining for a week and a half prior and on Saturday it was sunny and 80 degrees. We set up our garage with the food table, which was filled with fabulous food, like cucumber dill salad, fresh cherries, grapes, strawberries, garden veggies, crab dip, salsa and chips and baked beans. We're going to try and have it be an annual event.

I had to strap Cora to a chair, because she kept taking food off of the plates of everyone. Little good it did, though. Notice she standing up with the chair strapped to her backside. It was so funny to watch!
What would an outing at our house be like without guns? Do YOU suppose it's going to happen?
Probably NOT.
Everyone had a great time shooting.

Just a couple of cute shots of Audrey.

Here she's watching daddy shooting.

The after party of crackers!
Doesn't she look so cute with the hat on?

Love/Hate Relationship!

On Monday Lucas, the girlies and I went blackberry picking down river. We found a great picking area and had great success. We filled our buckets up in a hour! What fun! The girls loved eating as we went.
The end product! Can't wait to use them this winter!

Though I looked like I went though a battle with my arms! Oh well, it's worth it!

Truck Fun

The other day while Lucas was changing the oil in the truck the girls had so much fun playing in it. I had to catch some of the fun in pictures.
